Part 1: Select one of the innovations in food processing outlined in the table in handout 3.1 and brainstorm one hypothetical and one real example of that innovation. Part 2: The class will be divided into two groups – one in support of, and the other against, industrial agriculture – with a discussion thread created for each group. Using the discussion board set up for your position, identify which stakeholders you might represent in society and outline the main arguments in favour of your reasoning. Review the discussion board set up for the alternate position and push the group to defend their arguments by asking questions and sharing counter-points.
